4 Installations For Backyard Winter Entertaining

Uncategorized · January 12, 2016

In Georgia, we’re pretty fortunate to have fantastic weather all year around. But we also know all too well that it get pretty chilly during the winter months! A huge concern with outdoor living spaces in the winter is keeping people warm. So how do you host an outdoor winter party without freezing people out? We have the tips!

  • Fire pits. You can never go wrong with a fire pit! There are two options for installing one; you can either buy a portable one at a home improvement store, or install a permanent one if you’re trying to improve the overall look of your living space. We always recommend surrounding it with a fire break like a paving stone patio.
  • Outdoor fire places. While this is the more expensive option, it really sets the tone for your backyard, and even increases the value of your home. It sets a cozy and inviting tone for guests and radiates heat quite far!
  • Chimeneas. Never heard of them before? Well these are freestanding, portable fireplaces that are usually made from clay but can also be made from aluminum or cast iron. It’s a little more affordable than an outdoor fireplace, and can cover patios or gravel areas. Keep in mind many of them don’t have screens to keep sparks from flying, so they should not be used on natural grass lawns, wood chips or bark.
  • Patio heaters. We often see these in restaurants; they look like those free standing heaters that are run off of propane. They’re not always the prettiest, but they do get the job done and keep small areas warm! If you don’t have get togethers often and need something temporary, this is a great option.

Don’t let the cold get you down! C&M Residential wants to help you with your warm outdoor living space; take a look at our portfolio to start getting ideas together, and request an estimate from us (for free) on our website! Have additional questions? Give us a call at 770-509-5191.
