I Found a Sink Hole! Now What?

2008_0612image0008 Sink holes can be extremely destructive and dangerous to home owners. They not only of course create hazards in and around the ground where they are located for simple trip and fall concerns, but can also cause major damage to your home. If you think you’ve found a sink hole at your home, these are the steps you need to take to have it repaired.

Make Note of Damage

Walk around your home and your whole property. Make notes of any cracks, fissures, or leaning structures that could be a results of an unstable foundation. Whomever works on your sink hole will need to know this information in advance so they can appropriately support the structure while they are working, as well as devise a plan for repair.

Find a Budget

Unfortunately, it’s virtually impossible to know how much time and money it is going to take to repair a sink hole until after the hole is opened and affected structures are appropriately supported. Prepare yourself ahead of time with an emergency budget to delegate to the task.
